May 2018 is packed with new book releases. Book lovers should especially mark May 8, as several exciting books will be released this day.
One of them is Warlight, a new novel from the author of The English Patient, Michael Ondaatje. A story is set after the World War II. We follow two teenagers who are left by their parents in the care of a mysterious guardian, who hides dark secrets related to his undercover service during the war.
Many readers are waiting for Stephen King’s new thriller, The Outsider, which will be released on May 22. My favorite book, however, is a novel from a Polish master of fantasy, Andrzej Sapkowski.
Sapkowski’s Season of Storms is the ultimate collection of novels and short stories following one of the most recognizable fantasy characters – a white-headed mutant tasked with killing unnatural beings – the Witcher.
If you are interested in non-fiction, you’ll find plenty of interesting titles for your wishlist. We’ve picked Carlo Rovelli’s The Order of Time, The Perfectionists by Simon Winchester, and Michael Chabon’s collection of essays on the meaning of fatherhood, Pops.
And if you are in the mood to discover and read the best of the best, make sure to take a look at our extensive guide to the best Kindle books of all time. It collects Top 100 books, Top 100 authors, and other detailed charts.

The Order of Time
Carlo Rovelli
Why do we remember the past and not the future? What does it mean for time to “flow”? Do we exist in time or does time exist in us?
In lyric, accessible prose, Carlo Rovelli invites us to consider questions about the nature of time that continue to puzzle physicists and philosophers alike.
Weaving together ideas from philosophy, science, and literature, Rovelli suggests that our perception of the flow of time depends on our perspective, better understood starting from the structure of our brain and emotions than from the physical universe.
The Order of Time is concise, elegant exploration of time from “the new Stephen Hawking.”
