Information design agency Accurat created for Brain Pickings a fantastic visualization that compares daily habits of famous writers.
In the chart, writers’ wake-up times are correlated with their literary productivity, as measured by the number of works published and major awards received.
The data for each writer is displayed like a clock. Literary productivity is shown as the aura around the portrait. There are also stack-bars with the number of works published, matching the wake-up time.
The visualization can be bought from Accurat’s shop on Society6. The mini poster is printed on natural white, matte, ultra smooth cotton rag, and costs $30. The largest format (22 by 40 inches) is $99.
Which writing habits do you have? Are you more of a Haruki Murakami or Gertrude Stein?
